Even when i've struck it against something it still seems strong, which concludes it being cheap and durable. A dark green sheath comes with it and thats also well made. Even though there better machetes out there this is a great deal for its price, and it gives a good conversation piece to those who see it.
Author: Edward Pellerin Quality: Finely Crafted Sharpness: Sharpened Functionality: Full Contact Use The bolo machete is very sturdy, it can hack down a sapling up to three inches in diameter with relative ease and the paint didn't get a scratch. Though it was only matched against wood, it didn't bend, dent or chip and the edge stayed factory sharp. I expected it to cut cleanly though a sapling of one to two inches with ease, however it did not, in fact it would only cut in half way (Straight out of the package). When it comes to underbrush however, which is what a machete is designed for, it hacked it up just as good as the larger machetes. I chose the bolo because it's different and the shape makes it efficiant for clearing brush and twigs; however if your looking for something to clear saplings and large roots out of your way I suggest one of the other models.

It makes no sense to use it for this anyways since it is in actuality a pretty short machete with not too much weight behind it. However it can and will do whatever you want to do, it will not break regardless of what you attempt to destroy. It just might take a few more swings.

Bolo refers to a hand held blade that shape and size can vary from a small to a large heavy thick blade in the Philipines. It is a popular weapon in Filipino Martial Arts training. They are well ballanced and the handles are screwed securely to the blade. They are a lot nicer then others I have that cost a lot more, and a must for anyone interested in the Filipino Martial Arts Training.

The handle is uneven on the butt, and there was some discoloration on the blade near the edge. The balence is pretty good for a machette, a little above the gaurd.
