These sai are meant to be used, not to be display items. They are solid and weighted well, and can be thrown by an experienced hand. The chrome coating will scuff if hit. A good, practical weapon.

I have never been as happy with sais like this one. Normally sais are heavy. but these are not. And they look very good. and voor Kobujitsu and Ninjitsu they are great. I like them and never want different sais again. I stay with these pair of Great Sais,

How can I even begin to describe these wonderful weapons? They are totally awesome. Not only do they look fantastic, but they handle exceedingly well. 21 1/2 inches is, in reality, fairly large. In fact, they are the largest pair of sais I've actually seen. However, they handle better than most pairs that are several inches smaller. Tons of fun to practice with, and an excellent edition to any collection.

I used to train with these weapons. Sometimes, on the cheaper models, the handle wrappings can come loose, but a little hockey tape should fix that easily.
They aren't sharp, but it's an interesting test to see what they can do to plastic.
As for weight, most are finely balanced.

Though, like the other review states, the wrapping on one of the sai's handles has begun to come undone, the sai themselves remain perfect. The shafts are octagonal, as advertised, and so have no ability whatsoever at cutting, but the tip is something to watch. The tip, while not dangerous, is tapered enough to a point that a sai dropped straight down from 5 feet would, in all likelihood, go through a foot. Purchase and use of these sai warrants the use of shoes during practice.
Nonetheless, these sai are awesome. The weight is perfect for strength training, and they have an automatic "coolness factor" that preempts any possible flaws someone could come up with.

These are my second buy from this website. I have to say that I am very satisfied. as another review points out, they are weighted perfectly for arm, hand, and even finger strength training. Your first day of having them, if your not already trained, will make your fingers sore and swollen. But that only lasts for a day or so. They are octagonal, although, on mine, they have a little more roundness to them. I, personnally, do not mind this. It gives them a better feel. If you want to know how to spin them, it's almost exactly like spinning a sword. If you know how to do that. The wraps on mine haven't started to really come off, and don't show much promise of doing so. This is, obviously, a good thing. The length factor gives them a very intimadating look. Since they are a little heavy, it may take some time to be able to strike very fast at first. These sai are a very nice piece, and I am so very happy I bought them. If your looking for a very beautiful weapon, then these are recommended.
